It is a common occurrence in our busy lifestyles. Accidents happen to all of us and it is nothing to be embarrassed. Several times a week we have customers calling us for a Roller Door Impact Damage Repair.
On this particular day a customer contacted us as they required Roller Door Impact Damage Repair caused by a boat hitting the roller door on the way out, the roller door was stuck halfway open and was pushed out of its tracks.
This particular roller door is operated by a manual chain and did not have a chain lock installed which is how the roller door managed to creep down from the open position. A chain lock is very important with chain operated doors so the door is locked into open position and doesn’t creep down on its own.
In this case the roller door did creep down without the customer realising and as he went to drive his ski boat out of the shed the door was pushed out and was damaged (see pictures). No damage to his boat thank fully however he now needed an emergency Roller Door Impact Damage Repair so call he called us.
To help the customer we organised an emergency call out for technician to attend to site as soon as possible. The technician removed the roller door and tracks and straightened the curtain as best as possible to allow security of the customers boat and other items in his garage.
In this case the Roller Door was damaged and did require a replacement but was still usable until a replacement was manufactured and installed.
Being that this was a rented shed with 4 roller doors, we quoted to replace the damaged door with the same brand, profile & colour as the other 3 to keep all 4 roller doors matching.
We also ensured the chain guide lock was installed preventing this from happening again.
A chain guide lock should have been installed originally and the customer would never have needed a Roller Door Impact Damage Repair if there was one in place.
These sorts of things can also be picked up and resolved in annual servicing of roller doors.
